Hundreds gathered in person and online for an evening of strength and inspiration marking the first yahrzeit of Mara D’asra, Harav Aharon Yaacov Schwei a”h.
The gathering was addressed by Rabbi Yosef Y. Braun, member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Bluming, maggid shiur in Oholei Torah, Rabbi Aharon Ginsburg, shliach to Boro Park, Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel, Shliach to Port Washington, NY and Rabbi Aharon Dovid Gancz, Rosh Yeshiva in Tomchei Temimim Morristown.
Rabbi Aharon Ginsburg announced the founding of a new institution in memory of Rabbi Schwei, with a mission of collecting all of the Rebbe’s directives on how to approach shidduchim and family life.
The new institution will also create workshops and lectures to prepare Bochurim and girls to enter into the world of shidduchim and family life based on the founding of Torah and Chassidus.
The evening concluded with a siyum on Maseches Eiruvin by Rabbi Boruch Sholom Schwei. Special videos of Rabbi Schwei a”h were screened throughout the event.
