Ohr Menachem Cheder Concludes School Year with Spirited Siyum

Fathers, mothers and talmidim gathered Tuesday at Anashi Lubavitch Hall as Cheder Ohr Menachem concluded Shnas Halimudim 5786 with a spirited Chagigas Siyum celebrating the talmidim’s learning and achievements, culminating with Kita Zayen completing Maseches Tamid.

Fulfilling the Rebbe’s Horaah to continue Cheder throughout summer, talmidim of Cheder Ohr Menachem concluded their school year with a spirited Chagigas Siyum for Kitos Daled-Zayen.

Fathers, mothers, and the graduating grades gathered on Tuesday in the Anshei Lubavitch hall for a spectacular graduation. The unique event captures Cheder’s spirit – immersive Torah learning, chassidishe warmth, and unwavering hiskashrus to the Rebbe.

The program was emceed by the Menahel, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Dov Yusewitz.

The ceremony opened with a Dvar Malchus – a video Sicha of the Rebbe, emphasizing how each Siyum is a springboard for further growth.

Rabbi Zalman Goldstein of the Hanhala then read the Rebbe’s letter addressing the Talmidim HaMesaymim, summarizing the Rebbe’s words on the avodah of the summer months for the talmidim and their parents.

The Menahel Kloli of our continuum Mosdos, Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel, gave Birchas Kohanim, setting a tone of heartfelt tefilla for the imminent Hisgalus.

The crowd then rose to recite the Rebbe’s Kapital, led by Rabbi Zalman Liberow, member of the Cheder’s Vaad Haruchni.

In a special display of Yegia BaTorah, Rabbi Yossef Overlander, Vice Principal, came up to congratulate the Mishnayos Baal Peh leaders of every Kita, who then led the Kahal in the Yud-Beis Pesukim – the Chassanim and Sganim of each class.

The assembly was honored to hear a Dvar HaBadatz from Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Mara D’asra and a proud parent, who addressed the talmidim and parents.

Rabbi Oren Popper, Parents Representative of the graduating class, addressed the crowd on behalf of the parents, expressing appreciation to the Hanhala and Melamdim for their dedication.

A highlight of the Ohr Menachem graduation is the personal Teuda ceremony. The talmidim of each Kita – Daled, Hey, Vov and Zayen – came up to receive their certificates from their Melamdim. Menahel Rabbi Yusewitz announced for each boy the unique Shevach – the special praise chosen by his Melamed to define his unique light and contribution to the class this year.

While every Kita came up, a year-in-review video was screened, showcasing the chayus, the learning, the mivtzoim and the special moments of Shnas HaLimudim 5786.

The climax of the evening was the Siyum Maseches. Talmidei Kita Zayen, together with Rabbi Yisroel Greenberg, completed Maseches Tamid, which they had been learning throughout the year, and recited Kaddish with great chayus.

The graduates of Kita Zayen then received their graduation certificates, marking their transition to Mesivta.

The event concluded on a high note with an exclusive screening of the 7th grade students’ play about Shmuel HaNovi – a fitting finale that brought their learning to life and left parents beaming with nachas.
