After months of learning and anticipation, Chidon contestants from Sacramento Jewish Academy enjoyed a fun-filled Sunday at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

After davening and breakfast, the groups, chaperoned by dedicated SJA teachers, went into the amusement park to enjoy their day! In the spirit of Hakhel, Yaldei Hashluchim from other cities in Northern California joined the trip as well. After hours of roller coasters, rides, shows and fun, the group enjoyed a delicious supper and mincha at Chabad of Solano County.

The students had an amazing time, and expressed how this was “the best trip ever”. When asked about doing Chidon next year, they answered “yes” in a heartbeat. Parents commented on how great it was to see their children bonding in such a positive way, and how the trip motivated their children to continue in the incredible Chidon program next year.

“Every minute you spend learning pays off,” exclaimed a beaming 5th grader, before boarding the next roller coaster.

In the words of an 8th grader: “I gained knowledge of the Mitzvos in such an easy way. My message to students planning to join Chidon next year would be that it is the best program they can get into.”

“The Torah learning of children is what brings strength to the world. This trip was just a small reward compared to the infinite brachos the chayolim brought, and continue to bring, into the world, and the incredible, vast knowledge they gained,” says SJA Base Commander, Mushka Heidingsfeld.

“Chidon this year would not have been possible without Hashem and without the Rebbe, whose brachos we were blessed to see clearly through it all. Thank you to the school directors, Rabbi Yossi and Mrs. Malkie Korik, for their support to Chidon and Tzivos Hashem in SJA this year. Thank you to the wonderful team of SJA teachers and staff, and specifically to the trip chaperones. Thank you to Tzivos Hashem and Chidon HQ, for their tireless devotion and support at any hour of the day or night. Thank you to the parents, for their encouragement and dedication to their children’s success. Thank you to all who donated towards the trip, and to everyone who helped in any way. May we merit to celebrate Chidon 5784 in Yerushalayim with Moshiach now!”
