Rabbi Mendel and Nechama Gurary and their daughter Mussia will be moving on Shlichus to Wood Ranch, California to develop Yiddishkeit within this beautiful neighborhood.
Wood Ranch, located in the hills of Simi Valley, California, is a bedroom community, home to an estimated 400 Jewish households.
Until now, the local Chabad House was located at a considerable driving distance; it has become clear that Wood Ranch deserves its own Chabad House.
Rabbi Mendel and Nechama Gurary, and their daughter Mussia, have now been now selected to develop Yiddishkeit within this beautiful neighborhood.
They plan to organize many events and activities for the Jewish Wood Ranch community, including Minyonim within a decent walkable distance, holiday events, a women’s club, and more.
Chabad at Wood Ranch’s programming will aim to reach all ages, through an early childhood daycare, Torah classes for adults, regular house visitations, and holiday programs for the entire family.
In preparation for Pesach, they had a chance to deliver Matzah Shmurah to every known Jewish address in Wood Ranch. Thankfully, there have been many warm responses.
In order to finish raising the necessary funds, they are currently running a $50,000 campaign.
