New Preschool Curriculum Brings Matan Torah to Life

The Merkos Chinuch Office has released a new easy-to-use preschool curriculum on the Posuk of Torah, designed to bring Matan Torah to life as a meaningful support for the Shavuos unit.

The Merkos Chinuch Office has released a new easy-to-use preschool curriculum on the Posuk of Torah, designed to bring Matan Torah to life as a meaningful support for the Shavuos unit.

Built on the foundation of the 12 Pesukim and the Rebbe’s chinuch language, the curriculum gives Morahs clear, ready-to-use tools, including professionally designed printed materials, to help children feel a personal connection to the Torah.

“From the Rebbe’s call of Mivtza Chinuch over 50 years ago, we learn that chinuch begins early and must be personal,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, General Chairman of the Merkos Chinuch Office. “When children are given the language to feel that Torah is theirs, we are shaping identity in a deep and lasting way.”

Through storytelling, role play, centers, projects, and everyday classroom moments, children experience Torah as something real, exciting, and truly theirs.

With complete lesson plans, circle time guides, activities, and each child’s own “My Torah Book,” everything is organized and accessible, allowing teachers to spend less time planning and more time creating a meaningful experience.

“This curriculum was created with classrooms and Morahs’ needs in mind,” said Mrs. Shterna Rappaport, Educational Director of the Merkos Chinuch Office. “It gives clear language, structure, and ready-to-use tools, so Morahs can focus less on preparation and more on what matters most, helping each child feel connected to the Torah.”

The goal is that children don’t just learn about Torah, but begin to relate to it as their own, confidently saying, “The Torah belongs to me.”

“The Rebbe uses the expression that even a ‘pitzel kind,’ a very young child, can understand the concepts embedded in the Twelve Pesukim,” said Mrs. Sara Blau, Educational Director of the Merkos Chinuch Office. “This curriculum does exactly that, by breaking down deep ideas into a language that a ‘pitzel kind’ can understand.”

The curriculum, written by Mrs. Miriam Rappaport and designed by Mrs. Sheina Deutch, offers schools a practical, affordable way to bring the message of Torah ownership into the preschool classroom. The curriculum is available for both Chabad House and Lubavitch preschools and is currently offered at a low introductory price through a generous sponsor.
