New Details Emerge of Largest Kinus Yet
With the Kinus HaShluchim 5787 drawing closer, and thousands of shluchim preparing to make their way to Crown Heights for what is set to be the largest Kinus yet, new details of the program are emerging.
With the Kinus HaShluchim 5787 drawing closer, thousands of shluchim from across the world are preparing to make their way to Crown Heights for what is set to be the largest Kinus yet.
The Motzei Shabbos Melaveh Malka, which brings together thousands of shluchim for an evening of achdus and connection, will center on this year’s theme from the Rebbe’s kapitel, “Heitivah Hashem Latovim,” Bound Together: One Family, One Shlichus. The evening will spotlight the care, generosity, and achdus that unite shluchim, and how, as the Rebbe’s kapitel teaches, kindness toward one another becomes a vessel for Hashem’s goodness to us.
Addresses and video presentations will be presented by Rabbi Eli Chaikin of Barbados, Rabbi Chanoch Gechtman of Gadera, Israel, Rabbi Sholom B. Korf of Delray Beach, Florida, Rabbi Yossi Lazaroff of College Station, Texas, Rabbi Yossi Schapiro of West Delray, Florida, Rabbi Yossi Schilderkraut of São Paulo, Brazil, Rabbi Binyomin Wolff of Helsinki, Finland, and Rabbi Mendel Zarchi of Puerto Rico.
As every year, the kinus will featrue a dynamic lineup of workshops covering a wide range of topics.
One of the featured sessions will be led by Rabbi Moshe Bryski of Agoura Hills, California, and will focus on making the Chabad House the address for Torah.
The session will explore how a Chabad House can become the natural destination for meaningful Torah learning in its community by building a strong learning culture, developing consistent and engaging programming, reaching diverse audiences, and making Torah a central pillar of the Chabad House.
Another featured session, “This Is Just the Beginning,” is geared toward senior shluchim who have carried out their shlichus for decades and now find themselves asking what their role should be as younger shluchim step into leadership. The workshop will explore how to find a meaningful new role and transition into an “emeritus” position with dignity while continuing to inspire.
Panelists will include Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan of Baltimore, Rabbi Sholom Duchman of Brooklyn, Rabbi Mendel Gluckowsky of Rechovot, Eretz Yisrael, and Rabbi Chaim Mellul of Paris, France. They will discuss guiding the next generation through farbrengens, learning, and serving as a dugma chaya.
They will also share maanos and personal experiences with the Rebbe, offering guidance on how senior shluchim can put their wealth of experience to work.
Would be nice if there was some aspect that included the residents of the community.
Every year it feels like a massive carnival is coming to town, but all the residents of crown heights have to shelter in place and cant actually take part in anything.
I recall a siyum seferr Torah was done last year, and that was very nice
