Mrs. Leah Slavin, a beloved mother and grandmother from Crown Heights who had an open house for guests, passed away on Friday, Shvi’i Shel Pesach, 5782.

Born to her parents Shia and Frieda Korik in 1952, Lea was raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil after the family moved there from Paris, France.

In all the mosdos she attended in her youth, Lea demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the yiras shomayim with which she was raised. Throughout her life, this kabolas-ol would remain a hallmark of her very being.

After marrying her husband yblch”t Michoel Slavin, the couple settled in Crown Heights where they raised a large family. With her generous and giving heart, Lea’s home was a hub of hachnosas orchim for those visiting 770. Esteemed and important guests, flocks of yeshiva bochurim and everyone in between were graciously hosted in the Slavin home.

She is survived by her husband Michoel, and children: Yosef Slavin (Caracas), Dina Blum (Ottawa), Chany Rapaport (Clarks Summit), Yitzchok Slavin (Mississauga), Mendel Slavin (San Clemente) Dvory Deitsch (Toronto), Isser Slavin (Montreal), Shterny Bendet (Crown Heights), Miriam Kleinman (Crown Heights), Mordechai Slavin (Crown Heights), Zevi Slavin (Atlanta), and Berel Slavin (Dallas) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings.

The Levayah will take place Sunday, and will be passing 770 at approximately 2:00pm. Shiva will be in her home, 754 Eastern Parkway until Friday morning.
