The Maon Chaya daycare of Colel Chabad in Be’er Sheva sustained damage this afternoon, following the heavy barrage of missiles fired at Eretz Yisroel from Iran.
Staff were shocked to discover the extent of the destruction when reviewing footage from the security cameras. “It’s frightening to think what could have happened if the babies had been inside at the time,” said Rabbi Mendy Bloy of Colel Chabad, which oversees the nationwide Maon Chaya daycare network. “The Iranians show their strength by targeting infants, the elderly, and hospital patients. But nothing will deter us from living proudly here in Eretz Yisroel.”
The Be’er Sheva daycare was established two years ago in a festive event attended by the city’s late rov, Harav Yehuda Deri, a”h, who passed away this past year.
Maon Chaya is known across Eretz Yisroel for its dedication to raising young children al taharas hakodesh, following the chinuch approach of the Rebbe. The Be’er Sheva branch stands out for its careful design and thoughtful programming, tailored to meet the developmental needs of each child. The devoted staff are selected with care and receive ongoing training to ensure every child is nurtured, respected, and made to feel successful.
“It’s not easy to watch such destruction,” said one of the caregivers, “but we’re confident that with Hashem’s help, we’ll soon be back to doing what we love most — caring for and raising Yiddishe kinderlach.”
