Melbourne’s Business Leaders at Chabad’s Corporate Breakfast

A Corporate Breakfast event held at Crown Palladium in November hosted by Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges and the school Parents’ Association drew a capacity crowd of over 350. Attendees were privileged to hear an address from The Hon. Josh Frydenberg MP (Federal Member for Kooyong, Treasurer of Australia and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party) and took the opportunity to mix and mingle.

Partner at KPMG and Co-Chair of the Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Schools Limited Board, Daniel Houseman led the proceedings – welcoming dignitaries, Rabbonim, politicians, sponsors and corporate guests. He touched on the Schools’ journey and heritage and continued “We are proud to provide high-quality education options from Day Care and Early Learning Centres, all the way through to Year 12, offering excellence in Jewish and General Studies, a leading VCE program, Intensive Jewish Studies programs, and trade schooling. We do this in a warm, caring and nurturing environment, heavily focused on the well-being of all the children in our care” and he expressed his excitement about the future of Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges.

Following an Acknowledgement of Country by Josh Burns MP, Rabbi Elisha Greenbaum (Joint Principal, Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges) addressed the room with words of Torah and reflected Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges’ enthusiasm to reach new heights and “constantly improve”.

A video presentation showcasing the enriching education offered at Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges was shown followed by The Hon. Josh Frydenberg MP addressing the crowd. He highlighted that the future of our nation hinges on education and expounded that “Education is the first defense of the nation” with Jewish day schools allowing students to be “versed in our faith but also with the right set of values to embark in the greater world”. He commended the “high-quality education… [and] provision of a Jewish education to those without financial resource” that Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges provides. Mr. Frydenberg kindly fielded questions in a Q&A session with Mr. Zelman Ainsworth, followed by an address from David Southwick MP.

To round off the morning, as an expression of hakaras hatov (gratitude) Mrs. Barbara Belfer (Joint Principal, Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges) presented Mr. Frydenberg with a beautiful tzedakah (charity) box engraved with a saying from Pirkei Avos (Ethics of our Fathers).

Appreciation is extended to all the generous supporters, attendees and sponsors of the event who help Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges continue to provide a quality Jewish education to the Melbourne Jewish Community: Gold Sponsors – Valara Capital, Wilson Agents and Schachter Group; Silver Sponsors – CBRE, TMG and Colliers.
