For a number of years, the Kollel operated out of various locations, due to a number of difficulties. A chance has finally arisen for the Kollel to move back into their original premises, as well as to refurbish and renovate the building.
Under the leadership of Dayan Raskin, who serves as the Rosh Kollel, the Kollel yungeleit follow an organized curriculum for the advanced learning of practical Halochoh.
A unique feature of this Kollel is the hands-on application of the topics being learned, through regular discussions with Dayan Raskin, in which he shares challenging questions put forward to him by Shluchim around the world.
In addition to their own learning, time is set aside in the mornings and evenings for learning with others. Over one hundred members of the local and broader community have weekly chavrusos with or attend weekly shiurim arranged by the yungerleit.
In addition to their studies and tests by UK Rabbonim, the yungeleit also take the ‘Heichal Shlomo’ tests by the Rabbanut in Eretz Yisroel.
The kollel prides itself that each graduate has been successfully assigned positions of Shlichus across London and beyond.
“The kollel prepares them for shlichus, giving them a solid foundation upon which to build their leadership of communities around the country,” they said.
