Lmaan Yilmedu Launches In-Depth Hilchos Shabbos Course
Have you always wanted to study the laws of Shabbos in depth, in a clear and comprehensive way, directly from the Shulchan Aruch? Now is your opportunity! Machon Lemaan Yilmedu is launching a new in-depth Hilchos Shabbos course with Rabbi Tuvia Kassimov, guiding you through the halachos from the Tur and Beis Yosef, through the Shulchan Aruch, all the way to the rulings of the Acharonim.
There is no need to elaborate on the great importance of studying Hilchos Shabbos; it’s obvious. Shabbos arrives every week and it affects many details, including matters that are unavoidable, such as cooking, muktza, borer, and many more.
The Alter Rebbe explains in Tanya why it is necessary to study Hilchos Shabbos:
“For ‘Shabbos is a vast body of law,’ and a person can easily stumble in it, chas v’shalom—even in prohibitions punishable by kares or stoning—due to lack of knowledge. And ‘an error in study is considered willful transgression,’ chas v’shalom. Needless to say regarding rabbinic prohibitions, which are numerous, and especially the prohibitions of muktza, which are very common.”
However, it seems that at times, specifically because ofthe breadth of the subject and because of the complexity of the halachos ingeneral—and especially in their application in the modern world—there is difficulty in studying Hilchos Shabbos in an organized and in-depth way directly from the Shulchan Aruch and its commentaries.
If you too have wanted for years to study Hilchos Shabbos in depth but have not succeeded, this course is for you.
This course is an opportunity to study Hilchos Shabbos thoroughly, from the original sources—beginning with the Tur and the Beis Yosef, through the Shulchan Aruch, and up to contemporary halachic authorities who address practical questions in the modern world.
The shiurim are given by Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov, a Rav and moreh tzedek in Crown Heights, known for his exceptional clarity of explanation and his broad knowledge—both in the classic halachic sources and in practical rulings—making him uniquely suited to teach Hilchos Shabbos in depth.
Who is the course intended for?
