Live: Kinus Torah by Bais Horaah Chabad
Join live at 1 PM EST: Bais Hora’ah Chabad will host an online Kinus Torah on Isru Chag Shavuos, with rabbonim and morei hora’ah addressing practical halacha topics for Anash, shluchim, and Chabad Houses.
In fulfillment of the Rebbe’s directive to hold Kinusei Torah in connection with Yom Tov, Bais Hora’ah Chabad will host a live online Kinus Torah today, Isru Chag Shavuos, beginning at 1:00 PM EST.
The program will open with remarks from Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302, followed by Harav Sholom Ber Chaikin, Rov of Anash in Cleveland, Ohio, who will speak about “What is a Chassidisher Rov?”
Members of the Vaad Harabbonim of Bais Hora’ah Chabad will address a range of practical topics in halacha. Harav Gedalia Oberlander, Rov of Anash in Kingston, Pennsylvania, will speak on a practical halachic question in tznius according to the Alter Rebbe. Harav Mordechai Farkash, moreh hora’ah in Bellevue, Washington, will discuss the importance of having a mikva lady. Harav Boruch Hertz, Rov of Anash in Chicago, Illinois, will present halachos and a proposal for basic kashrus standards in Chabad Houses. Harav Levi Raskin, Rov of Anash in London, England, will answer common questions about eruv techumin. Harav Tuvia Kasimov, Rov of Empire Shtiebel in Crown Heights, will address whether one may “shop around” for answers from different rabbonim.
The program will also feature morei hora’ah of Bais Hora’ah Chabad. Harav Ehud Kvin, moreh hora’ah in Miami, Florida, will speak about the need for a Beis Hora’ah in the era of AI; Harav Berel Polityko, moreh hora’ah in Airmont, New York, will give an overview of the halachos of amira l’akum; and Harav Mendel Prescott, Rov of The Colony Shul in New Haven, Connecticut and Rosh Yeshiva of Machon Semicha, will address whether a non-Jew may keep Shabbos.
