Congressman Lee Zeldin, the Republican candidate for Governor of New York, visited Crown Heights on Tuesday night and joined the Sukkos festivities.

The visit was organized by the Crown Heights Republican Committee, who are canvassing for Zeldin in the community. With the election just weeks away, the group brought Zeldin back for his second visit in as many months, hoping to pull together the votes necessary to have him win the election.

Zeldin first visited the Sukkah of R’ Naftali Berkowitz, where he held a meet and greet with a number of community activists and locals, answering questions about his policies, with a specific focus on public safety and yeshivos.

He then headed to the Simchas Beis Hashoeva on Kingston Ave., where he was greeted by the dancing crowds, with some holding up campaign signs in Yiddish.

Zeldin was invited to address the crowd, and was introduced as “the next governor of New York.” Zeldin wished the crowd “good yontif” and delivered brief remarks before concluding “It’d be an honor to be your next governor.”
