Over the next two weeks, the fast-growing Lubavitcher community will celebrate four significant Torah milestones, marking learning achievements undertaken by community members.
Gemara, Halacha, Chassidus, and Rambam…
The Lubavitcher community of Kingston, PA, is perhaps best known for its rapid growth in numbers. But even more remarkable is its flourishing commitment to Limmud HaTorah, which is transforming the community and extending its impact beyond its borders.
Over the next two weeks, the community will celebrate no fewer than four siyumim, marking significant achievements in Torah learning by its members. Each of these initiatives began at different times and, through Hashgacha Pratis, are now concluding within the same time frame.
The first siyum will celebrate the completion of daily study in the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch – Chelek Alef. This community initiative began several months ago with a few dozen members committing to a structured daily study of Shulchan Aruch. The effort quickly gained traction beyond the local community, drawing participants from around the world who joined the study and engaged in vibrant discussions via a dedicated WhatsApp group. This Sunday, the group completed Chelek Alef, and on Monday, they will embark on Chelek Beis, which covers the halachos of Shabbos.
The second siyum will mark the completion of the third cycle of daily study of Samach Vov. Several years ago, community members sought to establish a daily Chassidus study regimen that would engage a broad audience. They initiated a daily study of one page of the Rebbe Rashab’s renowned hemshech from 5666. After completing it once, they reviewed it a second time, and now, after completing the hemshech for the third time, the group will begin studying another celebrated hemshech, Ayin Beis. This study will begin on Tuesday.
Next week, the community will join individuals from Crown Heights and beyond to celebrate the siyum on Maseches Chagiga, studied as part of the Toras Chaim program. This program follows a structured pace of one amud per day, five days a week, with weekends dedicated to review—completing ten dafim each month. Maseches Chagiga began in Kislev of this year, and after completing the final daf and test, the program will commence the study of Yevamos.
And of course, chassidim in Kingston will unite with fellow chassidim and Yidden worldwide to celebrate the Siyum HaRambam on Friday, Rosh Chodesh Adar, marking the completion of the 44th cycle of daily Rambam study.
Each of these study cycles remains open to all who wish to participate and enhance their lives through the daily study of Torah.
