International Shochet Publishes Torah Chiddushim in New Sefer
Rabbi Eliyahu Shlomo Ezagui, an international shochet known for traveling to far-flung and remote locations around the world for shechita, has published a new sefer, which he shared with leading rabbonim.
Rabbi Eliyahu Shlomo Ezagui, an international shochet known for traveling to far-flung and remote locations around the world for shechita, has published a new sefer of Torah chiddushim titled Eish Tamid.
The sefer, released shortly before Rosh Hashana, brings together years of Rabbi Ezagui’s Torah study alongside his unusual work as a shochet and bodek across the globe.
Eish Tamid contains original chiddushim and in-depth discussions spanning Gemara and poskim, halacha, aggadah and Chassidus. Its title reflects the comparison of Torah to fire, based on the possuk, “Halo koh devari ka’eish,” and the eish tamid that continually burned on the Mizbeiach.
The sefer carries haskamos and letters of bracha from rabbonim, including: Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Bluming, more horaah in Crown Heights; Rabbi Dovid Meir Drukman, Rov of Kiryat Motzkin; Rabbi Moshe Havlin, Rov of Kiryat Gat; Rabbi Yeshayahu Herzl, Rov of Nof HaGalil; Rabbi Baruch Boaz Yurkowitz, Rov of the Chabad community in Lod; Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yaroslavsky, Rov of Nachlas Har Chabad; Rabbi Dovid Lau, former Chief Rabbi of Israel; and Rabbi Aharon Shapira, Rov of the Pardes Katz neighborhood of Bnei Brak.
Following its publication, Rabbi Ezagui sent a copy to the Rebbe’s Library at 770 and presented the sefer to rabbonim, among them Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yaroslavsky and his son Rabbi Ben Tzion Yaroslavsky; Rabbi Bumi Friedland, magid shiur in Kiryat Gat; Rabbi Mendel Vechter, Rosh Kolel and Mashpia in Nachlas Har Chabad; and Rabbi Ezra Schochet, Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Elchonon Chabad in Los Angeles.
The sefer will be available in all seforim stores.
