Hundreds Danced Nightly at Kingston Simchas Beis Hashoeivah
Hundreds of residents and visitors from the Poconos, Brooklyn, and surrounding communities gathered each night of Chol Hamoed for Kingston’s fifth annual Simchas Beis Hashoeivah, featuring a different musical lineup each evening.
Hundreds of men, women, and children gathered each night of Chol Hamoed Sukkos for Kingston, Pennsylvania’s annual Simchas Beis Hashoeivah, held outdoors in the parking lot of the Bais Moshe community shul.
Now in its fifth year, the nightly celebration has become a highlight of Chol Hamoed for the growing Kingston community, drawing not only local families but also visitors from the Poconos, surrounding lake communities, Brooklyn, and beyond.
For two hours each evening, the parking lot was filled with lively music and spirited dancing, as fathers, children, bochurim, and yungeleit joined together in circles of Simchas Yom Tov.
Each night featured a different musical lineup, bringing fresh energy to the celebrations throughout Chol Hamoed.
The opening night featured Nachy Forster together with the Altein Boys. On the second night, Chony Zucker performed, with Shmuly Horowitz joining for part of the evening and Dovid Altein Productions providing keyboard accompaniment.
The third night featured singer Yeedle Rosenbaum, accompanied by Yitzy Herbst of the Fleishman Band on keyboard, while the fourth night featured Motty Reizes, who both sang and played keyboard.
The fifth night showcased local musical talent, with Zalmy Hershkop on drums, Levi Erentroi on keyboard, and Shaul Nemtzev on guitar.
In addition to the music and dancing, children participated in the recitation of the Twelve Pesukim each evening, adding a special Chassidishe dimension to the festivities.
The event has grown considerably since its inception five years ago, becoming a destination for families spending Chol Hamoed throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Visitors vacationing in the Poconos and nearby lake communities, as well as guests from Brooklyn and other areas, joined Kingston residents for the nightly dancing.
The outdoor celebration follows the Rebbe’s encouragement to bring the joy of Simchas Beis Hashoeivah into the streets and public spaces, spreading the simcha of Sukkos beyond the walls of the shul.
The nightly events were made possible through the generous sponsorship of members of the local community, with Kingston Chaverim assisting with logistics and coordination. Special appreciation was extended to the Kingston Police Department for its assistance in ensuring the celebrations ran safely and smoothly.
As Kingston continues to grow, its annual Simchas Beis Hashoeivah has become a cherished Chol Hamoed tradition, bringing together local Anash and visitors for five nights of music, dancing, and genuine Simchas Yom Tov.
