Gagguim Releases New Niggun for the Shluchim
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Amar of Machon Gaaguim Nigunei Chabad has released a new single, “Hisvaadus,” just days before the Kinus Hashluchim. The release follows the warm response to his previous niggunim and is dedicated to the Rebbe’s shluchim around the world.
The niggun appears in Otzar HaNiggunim as niggun number 350. It was recorded from Rabbi Shamshon Charitonov, of the well-known Charitonov family of baalei menagnim in Chabad. Frequently sung at farbrengens, this stirring melody expresses the depth of feeling of a Chassidishe farbrengen.
In connection with the release, Gaaguim cites the Rebbe’s words at the farbrengen of Shabbos Ha’azinu 5747 on the power of a Chassidishe niggun:
“There is a well-known saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, on the dictum of the wise man that a niggun is the pen of the heart. That is, the feeling of joy in the heart is expressed in a niggun. The emphasis is on the pen of the heart, and not the tongue of the heart or the like, which shows its connection to actual deed.”
The vocals are by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Amar, with arrangements by R’ Oved Munis. R’ Mordechai Brodsky handled the violin and musical production, while Rabbi Chaim Weiss provided consultation and guidance. The niggun was produced by Gaaguim, the Lubavitch music institute.
All Gaaguim albums are now available for download at gaagouim.com. Those who join the project’s WhatsApp group will receive updates on new niggunim released each month, along with the full stories behind them.
