A recent zoning change proposal has put the SUNY Downstate Hospital at risk of being torn down and turned into affordable housing. A meeting will take place this coming Monday at Wingate High School regarding it.

The zoning change will put the hospital in a vulnerable position that will motivate developers to tear it down and change it into affordable housing projects. The hospital is an important landmark for the Crown Heights community and has come to the rescue of many of our members in emergency situations. It’s one of the closest emergency rooms to the shchuna.

To hear more about it, join the meeting this coming Monday, March 18, between 7-9pm at Wingate high school.
