Dekel Levy, a young father from Rechovot, Eretz Yisroel, who inspired many to daven and do mitzvos as he battled corona for many months, passed away.
He was 35 years old.
Dekel was an active member of the young Chabad community in Rechovot, and was known for his warm out and enthusiasm for mivtzoim, especially mivtza tefillin.
In Shevat of this year, he contracted covid-19 and was hospitalized in a local hospital. After his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the ICU in another hospital, where he was intubated in critical condition.
Many around the world davened for his recovery, and after 72 days of being intubated, he awoke from his coma and his condition began to improve. A short while later, however, his condition deteriorated once again and he was intubated a second time.
He passed away last night, the evening of 28 Sivan, 5781.
He is survived by his wife Orly, and their three children.
The levaya took place in Eretz Yisroel.
