Crown Heights Families Join 7 NYC Menorah Parades

This year, for the first time, Crown Heights families had 7 Menorah Parade options, on different nights and in different locations, allowing for many more families to be able to participate spreading the light of Chanuka.

For many years, Crown Heights had only 1 Car Menorah Parade option, the Manhattan Menorah Parade organized by the Mitzvah Tank office.

This year, for the first time, Crown Heights families had 7 Menorah Parade options, on different nights and in different locations, organized by Menorah Parades NYC.

This new initiative, organized by Rabbi Yoel Vogel, gave the opportunity for many more families to be able to participate spreading the light of Chanuka to more locations around NYC. Our hope is to expand this project even more next year!

The parades, some of which were newly organized and some of which were held in the previous years, were organized together with the help of local Shluchim, and escorted by their local NYPD Precincts.

“It was so special having a car Menorah parade through our streets! What made it even more special, was the fact that Menorah Parades NYC had car Menorahs available to rent, which enabled our local Mekurovim to join as well!” says Rabbi Dovber Bryski of Chabad of Flatbush.

“Part of the success of the parades was having close to 75 Car Menorahs which we were easily able to mount on top of the cars of those participating,” says Zelik Newman, who oversaw the Car Menorah rentals.
