‘Connection Point’ Sees Success in Third Year in Summer Camps

Fifteen camps across the country, comprised of both boys and girls in overnight and day camps, are participating in the summer Connection Point program.

For several years, students in Chabad schools around the world have been enjoying Connection Point, a program by JEM in collaboration with Tzivos Hashem. The project enables children to learn directly from the Rebbe without any assistance, helping them truly become direct students of the Rebbe.

A recurring theme in the Rebbe’s summer addresses to children is that the summer months are not a “vacation” from Torah and should be utilized to increase in study. The familiar Connection Point from schools is now being implemented in summer camps for the third consecutive year. Fifteen camps across the country, comprised of both boys and girls in overnight and day camps, are participating in the summer Connection Point program.

Campers at Camp Gan Israel Montreal have been watching Connection Point on Friday afternoons, in their Shabbos clothes, after preparing for Shabbos. “The campers’ feedback and comments are amazing – many of them tell us that Connection Point is the first time they properly understand what the Rebbe is saying to them. They feel a genuine connection to the words of the Rebbe and actually are able to apply them to their daily lives,” said Yosef Bernstein, head counselor at CGI Montreal.

Each video, created specifically for this program, includes Sichos, personal encounters, and unique moments of the Rebbe with children, all presented with children’s narration. Mrs. Mushka Caytak, Ruchniyus director at Camp Emunah, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating that it is an exciting way to “bring the Rebbe’s message to camp.”

“The professionally-produced videos offered to the campers effectively communicate the message to the children at their level, and serve as unifying guidance for the entire camp,” she added.

The campers have already enjoyed a program on Yud Beis Tammuz and a 3-part series on the Rebbe’s interactions with children, and will soon be participating in a program on Chof Av, the Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe’s father.
