Children from across war-torn Ukraine enjoyed a few weeks of relative quiet in a rehabilitative atmosphere at a Chabad-run camp held near the border with Slovakia.

The camp was organized by the Chabad center in the Carpathian led by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Wilhelm. Many of the children participating in the camp experienced the horrors of war and witnessed the bombings in their cities.

The camp was held near Ukraine’s border with Slovakia was a quiet and peaceful place for the thousands of war refugees who fled their cities of Zaporizhzhia, Dnieper, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr.

Special emphasis was placed on giving these children a rehabilitative atmosphere from the stress of the war within a chasidish and loving Jewish atmosphere.

The children enjoyed trips and interesting programs that were prepared by the dedicated camp staff Yossi Zechuta, Meir Harsonsky and Menachem Yalenzi.

The camp was made possible thanks to the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Commonwealth of Nations headed by the Shliach, Rabbi Dovid Mundshein, thanks to whom it was possible to hold the special camp especially due to the terrible situation in Ukraine at the moment.
