The Chicago community has a history of tremendous outreach every Yud Alef Nissan, and this year will be no exception. To commemorate the Rebbe’s 120th birthday, they will be increasing their outreach capability more than three-fold.
This special parade will take place ahead of this Yud Alef Nissan, to mark the Rebbe‘s milestone birthday.
The Mitzvah Tank Parade, organized by Levi Moscowitz and his cousin Levi Moscowitz (not a typo!), will be continuing a tradition of 25 years; a highlight in Chicago, under the auspices of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois.
Chicago’s Mesivta will be partaking in this initiative for the first time. To enable this, the Parade will be taking place a little before Yud Alef Nissan so that the bochurim can be with the Rebbe for his birthday.
“This year we are working on getting at least 20 tanks,” the organizers told Anash.org. “This will better enable us to reach even more yidden across Chicago and its suburbs.”
The fully-loaded tanks with matzah will parade from the anash community into downtown before they spread out to reach all of downtown and the suburban areas.
This year will be the first year that they will be accepting crypto donations (with tax receipts).
