Bochurim Spending Tishrei at the Rebbe’s Ohel Welcomed
A Bruchim Haboim gathering welcomed the hundreds of bochurim spending Tishrei near the Rebbe’s Ohel, during which mashpiim encouraged them to utilize their time in the Rebbe’s daled amos.
With the arrival of thousands of bochurim from across the world to spend the month of Tishrei with the Rebbe, the “Hachnosas Orchim” organization has begun its extensive program of hachnosas orchim for the hundreds of guests who will spend the entire month in the Rebbe’s daled amos at the Ohel.
This week, the opening gathering and Bruchim Haboim for the bochurim was held at a spacious tent near the Rebbe’s Ohel, “Ohel Avraham,” named in memory of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchok ben Nosson Schlossberg, with the large meal tent serving as the central location for the meals and gatherings of the bochurim throughout the month.
The gathering served as an official welcome for the bochurim arriving from across Eretz Yisroel and elsewhere, while also setting the tone for the weeks ahead.
Throughout the evening, the mashpiim and rabbonim who addressed the bochurim focused on making the most of the unique opportunity to spend Tishrei in the Rebbe’s daled amos and turning the time into a meaningful and lasting experience.
Rabbi Shlomo Kenig, who was flown in especially to spend time with the bochurim near the Ohel, addressed the bochurim and spoke about the importance of utilizing their time properly while they are in the Rebbe’s daled amos. He spoke about the unique opportunity that the month provides for learning, davening, hiskashrus and spending time together with fellow bochurim.
The bochurim were encouraged to recognize the significance of the place where they are spending the month and to approach their time there with the seriousness and appreciation that it deserves.
As part of the Bruchim Haboim program, a special Mivtza Torah was also announced for the bochurim. The campaign will encourage the bochurim to dedicate additional time to learning throughout the month, with scholarships being awarded at its conclusion to help cover their travel expenses to New York.
On Motzoei Tzom Gedaliah, a large farbrengen was held with Rabbi Kenig, who spent several hours speaking with the bochurim about how to experience Tishrei with the Rebbe in a meaningful way.
The farbrengen focused on making the month more than simply a period of intense activity, and instead using the time to live with the Rebbe and strengthen their connection to the Rebbe’s horaos and Darkei HaChassidus. The farbrengen continued until the early hours of the morning.
The bochurim also had the opportunity to hear a shiur from Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Wolberg, one of the roshei yeshivah of Tomchei Temimim in Kfar Chabad.
Rabbi Wolberg delved into the concept of Yom Kippur as explored in the Rebbe’s Torah, bringing sources and explanations to clarify the various aspects of the subject in depth. The shiur gave the bochurim an opportunity to continue their learning together in the spacious meal tent of Hachnosas Orchim, where they gather throughout the month.
The shiur and farbrengen are part of a broader effort by Hachnosas Orchim to provide the bochurim with more than meals and accommodations during their stay.
