After a period of uncertainty, the family of bochur Shneur Zalman Neiman, who was critically injured on Simchas Torah at 770, has shared encouraging news about his condition.
Shneur Zalman is now breathing and eating on his own and has even begun walking a little, his father, Reb Shlomi Neiman, reported.
This follows an earlier encouraging development, when Shneur Zalman regained consciousness and opened his eyes for the first time since the accident after spending a week sedated.
Shneur Zalman, 17, was visiting the Rebbe for Tishrei when he was critically injured in a fall during the Simchas Torah celebrations at 770. He was immediately sedated and placed on a ventilator in the hospital.
His parents dropped everything and flew from Eretz Yisroel to be at his side. Meanwhile, the Anash community rallied to support the family, helping ease the enormous financial burden of medical and related expenses while continuing to daven for his recovery.
Despite the encouraging progress, the family is asking everyone to continue davening for a complete and speedy recovery for Shneur Zalman ben Talya Natasha, that he should merit a refuah sheleimah speedily.
