After more than a week of heartfelt teffilos, Shneur Zalman Neiman, who was critically injured on Simchas Torah, finally woke up today and opened his eyes for the first time since the accident.
Shneur Zalman, 17, was visiting the Rebbe for Tishrei when he was critically injured in a fall during the Simchas Torah celebrations at 770. He was immediately sedated and placed on a ventilator in the hospital.
His parents dropped everything and flew from Eretz Yisroel to be at his side. Meanwhile, the Anash community rallied to support the family, helping ease the enormous financial burden of medical and related expenses while continuing to daven for his recovery.
Today, after more than a week, Shneur Zalman finally woke up and opened his eyes for the first time since the accident.
The family is asking everyone to continue davening for a complete recovery for Shneur Zalman ben Talya Natasha.
