At Kinus, Micro Groups Launched to Debate the Rebbe’s Torah

The Kinus HaShluchim in Eretz Yisroel brought together over 1,300 Shluchim for days of learning and connection. Highlights included a session on Sichat Hashavua’s milestone issue, 50 years since “Shnas Hachinuch,” and an initiative of shluchim micro groups discussing the Rebbe’s Torah on WhatsApp.

The annual Israeli Kinus HaShluchim – the central gathering of the Rebbe’s shluchim in Eretz Yisroel – was held this past week at the Nir Etzion Hotel, drawing over 1,300 Shluchim from across the country for three days of reflection and reinvigoration.

Organized by Tzeirei Agudas Chabad of Eretz HaKodesh, the Kinus featured a packed schedule of lectures, panels, farbrengens, and workshops, all focused on empowering the Shluchim in their holy work.

Ahead of the Kinus, Tzach released new statistics showing a dramatic rise in the number of Shluchim: Eretz Yisroel is now home to 907 Chabad Houses, staffed by 1,310 Shluchim. In the past year alone, 103 new Shluchim families joined the ranks – the highest-ever number added in a single year.

“This figure reflects a quiet revolution unfolding in the world of Shlichus in Eretz Yisrael,” said Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Aharonov, chairman of Tzach. “Beyond the training and tools the Kinus offers, it is also a moment of tribute – a deep acknowledgment of the personal sacrifice and dedication each Shliach and his family bring to their community.”

One of the major highlights of the Kinus was the launch of a new initiative called “Shluchim Chaim Toras Hameshale’ach,” a structured daily learning program for Shluchim. Each small group – limited to 32 participants – meets over WhatsApp daily to study a segment of the Rebbe’s sichos and maamarim. Each member takes a turn reading aloud, with others listening, commenting and sharing how the ideas can be applied in practice. The goal is to give every Shliach a fixed time each day to stay connected to the Rebbe’s Torah in a consistent and practical way.

A key highlight of the Kinus was a special session celebrating the 2,000th issue of Sichat HaShavua, Eretz Yisroel’s most widely distributed Jewish weekly. The event was led by senior editor Rabbi Menachem Brod, who gave an in-depth presentation on the publication’s history, its broad impact, and the extensive reader feedback. (An in-depth interview with Rabbi Brod appeared on Anash.org earlier this month).

Other prominent figures from politics, media, and the military also participated. The session concluded with a panel of Shluchim sharing practical examples of how they use Sichat HaShavua as a resource to bring Jews closer to Yiddishkeit.

The closing session of the Kinus commemorated 50 years since the Rebbe declared 5735 a “Year of Chinuch” (Shnas Hachinuch). It was attended by members of the Beis Din Rabonei Chabad and opened with remarks from Rabbi Yisroel Tzvi Glitzenstein of Eilat, who shared rare horaos and personal guidance he received from the Rebbe over the years.

The Kinus ended with farbrengens that lasted until late into the night, leaving the Shluchim refreshed and focused as they returned to their communities ready to bring the Rebbe’s message of light and hope to every Jew in Eretz Yisrael, now stronger and more united.
