After decades of living spread out across Tzfas apartments, students of the renowned “Chitrik Seminary,” Beis Chana, will now have their own dormitory. On Rebbetzin Chana’s birthday, the cornerstone was laid for a six-story dormitory building that can accommodate up to 350 students.
For decades, the many students of the Beis Chana Seminary in Kiryat Chabad, Tzfas, have been living in rented apartments scattered throughout the neighborhood and surrounding areas. On 28 Teves— the birthday of Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s mother—the cornerstone was laid for a brand-new dormitory building to house the students.
The new building, which is planned to be six stories tall, will accommodate 350 students.
The event was attended by the mara d’asra and member of the Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad, Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky; Mayor Yossi Kakun; Chabad representatives in the municipality, including Deputy Mayor Rabbi Shneur Lipsker, Chairman of the Welfare Department Rabbi Yoram Mauda, and Chief of Staff to the Mayor, R’ Aryeh Nissilevitch.
Also present were members of the administration: CEO of the mosdos, Rabbi Shlomo Raskin; Deputy CEO, Rabbi Avi Haddad; Seminary Director, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Chitrik; and Assistant Director, Rabbi Elisha Shapira. Teachers, staff members, dorm counselors, office staff, kitchen and maintenance workers, members of the local community, and guests from beyond Tzfas joined in this momentous occasion.
