JNet Director Rabbi Yudi Dukes was released from NYU Hospital to a rehabilitation center on Tuesday following his second hospitalization as a result of lingering complications from COVID-19.

Rabbi Dukes was released from the hospital in Elul after five months of hospitalization with a severe case of COVID-19. He then went to a rehabilitation center, and was meant to be released home during Chol Hamoed Sukkos. However, further complications were discovered, and Yudi was sent back to NYU hospital.

On Tuesday, he was released back to rehab, this time able to walk out by himself.

Yudi’s wife Sara Dukes announced the good news on her Facebook page.

“After what felt like one hundred steps backwards, Yudi takes a gigantic leap forward with his transfer to Rusk Rehabilitation Center today,” she wrote. “The departure was quiet and intimate which allowed Yudi and I to share this experience together and reflect on the incredible miracle that was taking place.”

“⁣⁣Watch how Yudi WALKS out of the hospital unit independently. ⁣⁣May the next and final transfer happen smoothly and swiftly and we will all celebrate together with Yudi dancing out of NYU and into his own home,” she wrote.⁣
