Shluchim families from Russia and Ukraine celebrated the wedding of their children in New York on Thursday, after relocating it last minute due to the ongoing war.
The wedding of Meni Stambler of Kamianske, Ukraine, and Rikel Deitsch of Samara, Russia, was originally scheduled to take place in Dnipro, Ukraine. But the Russian invasion of Ukraine caused the wedding to be moved to New York just a short time before the planned date.
The kabalos ponim took place in Crown Heights, and the chuppa took place in front of Chabad World Headquarters at 770. During the chuppa, participants davened for their colleagues back at home, many who find themselves in life-threatening situations.
