Tzitzis Initiative in Rabbi Kogan’s Memory Reaches 50 Campuses

As shluchim gather for the Kinus Hashluchim, a tzitzis campaign in memory of Rabbi Zvi Kogan HY”D is expanding to 50 Chabad on Campus locations, providing selected shluchim with a $1,000 gift card toward tzitzis for their students in exchange for a $100 campus contribution.

As shluchim gather for the Kinus Hashluchim, a campaign to encourage university students to begin wearing tzitzis is expanding to 50 Chabad on Campus locations, in memory of Rabbi Zvi HaKohen Kogan HY”D.

Organized by VeAhavta Judaica with the support of the Kogan family, the initiative provides selected campus shluchim with a $1,000 gift card toward tzitzis for their students, in exchange for a $100 contribution from the campus.

Rather than receiving a standard package, each shliach can select the styles his students will feel comfortable wearing daily, including cotton or Dri-Fit, sleeved or sleeveless tzitzis, tallis katan or wool undershirts, in the sizes they need. The gift cards are valid for one year.

According to the organizers, dozens of gift cards have already been distributed following strong interest from campus shluchim and photos from the initiative show students receiving their new tzitzis at Chabad Houses.

Participating campuses are asked to share photos and short video clips of students taking on the mitzvah, helping spread the initiative to other campuses.

The campaign is dedicated l‘iluy nishmas Harav Zvi HaKohen ben Rabbi Alexander, HY”D, whose first yahrzeit was marked this past Shabbos, 20 Cheshvan. Through the initiative, his memory is being honored by encouraging more young Yidden to take on the mitzvah of tzitzis.

Applying is free and does not require an upfront payment. Selected campuses will receive a link to make the $100 contribution, followed by the $1,000 campaign gift card.

Shluchim interested in participating can apply at veahavta.net.
