As many Israelis marked Memorial Day for the fallen soldiers and victims of terror, thousands of citizens, soldiers, and bereaved family members participated in a nationwide Tefillin campaign organized by Tzach of Eretz Yisroel.

From the early morning hours, Chabad representatives – including veteran shluchim and prominent rabbonim – set up tefillin stands at hundreds of locations, most notably at the entrances to military cemeteries, where large crowds gathered to honor the fallen.

The initiative aimed to offer people, especially grieving families, an opportunity to put on Tefillin and daven in memory of their loved ones.

One of the most active booths was set up outside the cemetery in Rosh HaAyin by Shluchim Rabbi Binyamin Akiva and his son Rabbi Avigad Akiva. They described the emotional responses of participants: “People were putting on Tefillin with tears in their eyes. They said it gave them strength during such a difficult time.”

Volunteers also visited army bases and gathering points across the country and wrapped Tefillin with hundreds of soldiers. Ezer L’Chayal coordinated logistical support and distributed thousands of bottles of water at the cemetery entrances.
