In a unique project in memory of shliach Rabbi Benny Wolff, the Rabbinical Conference of Europe announced that Israeli supermarket mogul Rami Levy will be sponsoring free tefillin for Europeans who need.

The donation totals hundreds of pairs of tefillin – at a cost of hundreds of dollars per pair, at a total of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Two pairs of tefillin will be given to every European community that has two members that need tefillin and apply to the Conference.

The idea came about through the efforts of Rabbi Aryeh Goldberg, CEO of the Rabbinical Conference of Europe who was seeking a way to memorialize shliach Rabbi Benny Wolf, who passed away a few weeks ago.

The initiative is not the first partnership between the Rabbinical Conference of Europe and Rami Levy. Over the past years, Mr. Levy sponsored many of the Conference’s projects, including sponsoring the yearly Bar Mitzvah charter flight to Eretz Yisroel for Bar Mitzvah boys from Europe.
