A stunning new men’s mikvah was dedicated on Sunday at the Anshei Lubavitch Shul in Crown Heights, culminating many long months of effort, and adding a new dimension to the growing community.

Headed by Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Anshei Lubavitch is a full-fledged community, with multiple shiurim, programs and minyonim every week, as well as an active women’s department, Sunday Kollel, and children’s programs. The shul, at 578 Albany Avenue, is constantly looking for ways to grow, and the mikvah was yet another step in that direction.

Community members gathered on Sunday for the dedication, where they heard addressed from Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Rabbi Levi Garelik, as well as representatives from the donor’s families.

The assembled then headed down to the mikvah to put up mezuzos (on the doors that are chayav b’mezuza), after which Rabbi Levi Garelik explained some interesting details about what makes a mikvah kosher.

The Mikvah was sponsored by the Junik family in memory of Rabbi Berel Junik, who served as a mashbak in the Rebbe’s home, and was named ‘Mikvah Mashbak’ in his honor. It was also sponsored by the Gopin family in memory of R’ Boruch Gopin and R’ Dovi Lesches in memory of his uncle R’ Yeshayahu Lesches.

The construction of the mikvah was done by local resident R’ Dovid Hershkowitz, who also donated much time and effort to see the mikvah to completion.

To sign up for mikvah membership, please see Levi Kotlarsky in Anshei Lubavitch between 8:00-10:00 PM every night.

The shul thanked the many donors who donated towards building the mikvah, including Abe Rogasky, Zalmy Cohen, Menachem Gopin, Michoel Mutchnik, Dovid Hershkowitz, Yossi Yaffee, Mendy Gopin, Avremi Ormland, Yitzy Shapira, Dovid Junik, Berel Hildeshaim, Dovid Abba Goldstein, Binyomin Lifshitz, Zalman Friedman, Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Sruly Richler, Sam Kanar, R’ Avraham Gopin, Chezki Golowinsky, Betzalel Gopin, Mendel Engel, Shimon Liani, Yossi Dahan, Levi Brook, Lzchus Mushka Bas Matanya Yehuda, Shneur Gopin, Chanoch Chaskind, Pesach Alpert, R Shia Morosow, Dovi Lesches, Shamshon Junik, Menachem Mendel Junik, Benny Friedman, Peretz Chein, Hershel Spalter, Levi Kotlarsky, Moshe Yosef Engel, Shloimy Stock, Yechiel Schron, Natfoli Hildeshaim, Ariel Spiegel, Yossi Shain, Eli Posner, Shmuel Hildeshaim, Yitzy Silver, Yitzchok Yarmush, Aharon Gopin, Menachem Lasker, Kuti Goldstien, Shneur Seewald, Mendy Chein and Yaakov Raskin.
