Rabbi Shmuel Omer, who served as a shliach in Ariel and Emanuel in Eretz Yisroel, and who was a familiar figure in 770, passed away on Shabbos, 8 Tishrei 5781.

Rabbi Omer was a familiar face to many in the Crown Heights community, as he frequently visited New York and spend lengthy periods of time in 770 Eastern Parkway, where he would fundraise for Chabad activities in Shomron.

Right before Rosh Hashana, Rabbi Omer traveled to New York to spend Tishrei by the Rebbe. After feeling unwell over Yom Tov, he returned to Eretz Yisroel, and on Shabbos he passed away.
