Rabbi Raitport Urges Bochurim to Fully Immerse in Learning

At a visit to Beis Medrash Oholei Torah, Rabbi Yitzchok Raitport delivered a captivating Shiur Kloli before continuing in an in-depth learning discussion and farher with a group of bochurim, sharing personal stories and guidance drawn from his years as a bochur by the Rebbe.

Oholei Torah was honored to welcome Harav Hagaon Rabbi Yitzchok Raitport Shlita, who was warmly greeted by members of the hanhola, including Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Shlomo Kaplan, and Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, mashpia roshi of the Beis Medrash.

The bochurim and staff had the zechus to hear Rabbi Raitport deliver a Shiur Kloli in the Raitport Beis Medrash. The shiur focused on the current Gemara being studied by the bochurim, with Rabbi Raitport bringing clarity and depth to the sugya. He also shared a deeply personal recollection from one of his many interactions with the Rebbe, adding a meaningful and inspiring dimension to the learning.

Following the shiur, Rabbi Raitport was accompanied by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Shlomo Kaplan and Maggid Shiur Rabbi Avrohom Chaim Stern to meet with a select group of bochurim, whom he also farhered, as they further discussed the sugya in depth. The group delved into topics related to the Gemara currently being studied, with Rabbi Raitport emphasizing the importance of full immersion in learning and achieving a thorough understanding of the material. He also shared additional personal stories about his experiences with the Rebbe and his own time as a young bochur.

The bochurim chosen to meet with Rabbi Raitport were Leibel Zaltzman (Toronto, Canada), Yossi Heidingsfeld (Moore Park, CA), Mendy Peikarski (Morristown, NJ), Eli Bronstein (Florida), Yisroel Plotkin (Toronto/Crown Heights), Yisroel Muss (Sydney, Australia), and Shmuly Hendel (Marine Park, NY).

Rabbi and Mrs. Raitport have been pillars of Oholei Torah for over 50 years, providing unwavering support and care for the bochurim as they grow in their learning. This visit also marked Rabbi Raitport’s first opportunity to see the major expansion in many divisions of the Yeshiva, and he was visibly impressed by the growth and development of Oholei Torah and the tremendous progress the moissed has made over the years.

Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Donor Relations and a close friend of the Raitport family, expressed gratitude to Rabbi Raitport for his decades-long dedication. He highlighted how the significant investments, dedications and efforts of Rabbi and Mrs. Raitport have contributed to the success and flourishing of the mossad. Rabbi Blumes thanked Rabbi Raitport for his visit and his ongoing commitment to sustaining and expanding the Yeshiva.
