Rabbi Levi Tenenbaum, a long-time mechanech and the Ba’al Tokeah in 770 for many years, passed away on Wednesday, 19 Tishrei.

Rabbi Levi Tenenbaum, a long-time mechanech and the Ba’al Tokeah in 770 for many years, passed away on Wednesday, 19 Tishrei.

He was 71 years old.

Levi was born in Brooklyn, NY to Rabbi Yosef Menachem Mendel Tenenbaum, menahel of Tomchei Timmim, and Zisel Devorah (née Freed).

After learning in the Lubavitcher Yeshivos, he obtained Semicha from Central Chabad Yeshiva in 770. Levi went on to be a dedicated Rebbi and mashpia in United Lubavitcher Yeshiva – Crown Street and Mesivta Chovevei Torah.

He was zoche to succeed his father as Ba’al Tokeah for the Rebbe’s minyan in 770 for many years.

He is survived by his wife Sara (nee Groner) and children, R’ Yitzchok Tenenbaum, Valley Village, CA; R’ Zevi Tenenbaum, Irvine, CA; R’ Shaya Tenenbaum, Crown Heights; R’ Eli Tenenbaum, Omaha, NE; Mushki Tenenbaum, Crown Heights; and Rochele Elharar, Crown Heights; and many grandchildren.

The levaya will take place Thursday, passing by 770 at 2:30 PM, followed by kevura near the Ohel at 3:30 PM.
