On Thursday, Chassidim the world over completed the study of Sefer Nezikin, the eleventh book of the Rambam. A virtual Siyum was organized by rambam.today.
The Siyum feature Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe, rabbi of Congregation Bnei Torah in Springfield, MA, and Dean at the Institute of American and Talmudic Law.
Drawing on the legal theme of Sefer Nezikin and contemporary events, Rabbi Yaffe expounded on the halacha in Hilchos Gezeila va’Avedah about when a king takes over territory by force and confiscates property when is he considered a thief according to halacha and when not.
The program was hosted by the popular Rabbi Raleigh Resnick of the Tri-Valley, CA, and concluded with a trivia challenging our viewers to their mastery of Sefer Nezikin.
