With the month of Tishrei right around the corner, and Italy still in a state of emergency because of the pandemic, great efforts are being made to guarantee the supply of Calabria Esrogim to Chabad Chassidim worldwide.

Rabbi Reuven Matusof, Shliach to Lichka Lubavitch, Paris, who has been handling Calabrian esrogim for 40 years at the Lichka Lubavitch in Paris, is putting fears of an Esrog shortage to rest.

“Due to aviation restrictions in various countries due to the pandemic, we are preparing to transfer the etrogim as soon as possible,” he says. “Since the beginning of Elul, we have been preparing shipments of Esrogim in order to provide every Jew who wants with a mehudar esrog from Calabria”.

Together with Shliach in Milan, Italy, Rabbi Moshe Lazar, Rabbi Matusof has been busy inspecting and packing esrogim with the help of his son Rabbi Shneur Zalman Matusof and Mendel Zaltzman.
