New Technology Allows Release of Sensitive Rebbe Videos

A rare collection of videos showing the Rebbe addressing sensitive issues has been released using new technology to conceal the identities of those seeking the Rebbe’s guidance.

A rare collection of video clips showing the Rebbe addressing real-life issues and sensitive topics was released last week, drawing widespread attention. The collection was published as a memento for the wedding of Aron and Zahava Vogel and produced by JEM (Jewish Educational Media).

Most of the clips had never been published before.

The videos cover questions people brought to the Rebbe during yechidus and other private settings, including sholom bayis, children who are struggling, and business matters.

Because of the personal nature of these conversations, the footage remained private for years. To make the videos available while respecting the privacy of those involved, JEM used new technology to obscure the faces of those speaking with the Rebbe and re-record their voices, while leaving the Rebbe’s own words and image unaltered.

The collection covers the Rebbe’s guidance on working with family, unpaid loans, uncertainty, overcoming hardships, and competition.

A parenting section includes clips on social and learning challenges, a lack of self-control, the best ways to influence children, and consistency in parenting.

Other videos explore the Rebbe’s guidance on marriage, including fostering peace in the home, influencing one’s spouse indirectly, and traveling for business.

The newly released clips offer a rare window into the practical guidance the Rebbe gave people facing everyday challenges, from the workplace to the home.
