New Shluchim to West Philadelphia

Rabbi Mendel and Mushka Dubrowski are heading out on the Rebbe’s shlichus to establish a new Chabad House in West Philadelphia.

West Philadelphia was once home to a thriving Jewish community of more than 75,000 Jews in the 1950s. Today, Jewish life in the area is experiencing a resurgence, as young professionals and families put down roots and upwards of 4,000 Jews call West Philadelphia home.

The new Chabad House will serve the growing community with Torah classes, mitzvah opportunities, Yom Tov programs, community Shabbos dinners, and programs for children and families.

The Dubrowskis aim to build a warm and welcoming Jewish community where every Jew, regardless of background or level of Jewish knowledge, can feel connected and inspired.

Beginning the new shlichus from the ground up, without existing infrastructure or a local financial base, the Dubrowskis have launched a campaign to help fund the opening of the Chabad House and establish its first programs.

The campaign is running through Friday, with funds going toward the initial expenses of building the new shlichus and laying the foundation for continued Jewish growth in West Philadelphia.

Their goal is to increase Torah and mitzvos throughout the area and bring more Yidden closer to Yiddishkeit, hastening the coming of Moshiach.
