New Shluchim To Wellington West in Ottawa, Canada

Rabbi Moshe and Sheina Caytak, together with their son Mendel, were recently appointed as the Rebbe’s Shluchim to Wellington West, Ottawa, Canada.

Rabbi Moshe and Sheina Caytak, together with their son Mendel, were recently appointed as the Rebbe’s Shluchim to Wellington West, Ottawa, Canada.

Wellington West is a revitalized neighborhood in Ottawa west-central running along Wellington Street. This area has been transforming over the past several years from a somewhat sketchy area into Ottawa’s “it” neighborhood.

Being one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city, Wellington West has a fast-growing Jewish population without any Jewish infrastructure of its own.

The Caytak’s will be opening the first Chabad house in the area to serve the community, providing activities all year round for all ages including Shabbos and Yom Tov meals, a Jewish women’s club, a Jewish business network, Torah classes, chavrusa learning, and eventually a minyan and much more.

Sheina grew up in Seine-et-Marne, France, and was always involved in her parents’ Shlichus. Moshe grew up in Ottawa, Canada and has been involved in Shlichus in various places around the world from a very young age.

Since they were children, the Caytak’s dreamt of joining the army of Shluchim and heeding the Rebbe’s call “לתקן עולם במלכות ש-ד-י”.

The new shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum, head-Shliach of Ontario.
Dr. Yosef and Devora Caytak are thrilled for the new couple to bring new energy to the growing community.
