Rabbi Eliezer and Chana Tunk along with their 3 children have been appointed the new Shluchim of Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire in England.
In the past several years the village of Bricket Wood, a village on the outskirts of London has grown over 60% in the number of Jewish Families moving in. Now Bricket Wood has over 300 families who have been campaigning for an established Jewish Community.
For several years now Rabbi Leivi Sudak of Lubavitch of Edgware has assisted with the needs of the Jewish community in Bricket Wood and its districts due the increase in the number of Jewish Families.
Despite the difficulties of complying with Covid restrictions, Rabbi and Mrs. Tunk traveled to Bricket Wood to begin the foundation of Chabad Lubavitch in Bricket Wood. Together with the community, they organized the first-ever Chanahkah Menorah lighting there, where over 150 people attended. They distributed Mishloach Monos, provided Shmurah Matzos for Pesach, where they met up with almost 100 families and Shavous through a group of volunteers headed by Deena Grossman (an active community member) cheesecake was distributed on their behalf.
As the UK social distance rules are scheduled to be lifted at the end of June. Rabbi Tunk & his family are already building the community with the start of a Friday night Davening for the first Friday Night after the rules are lifted.
They have joined together with the main Chabad UK Giving Day Charidy fundraiser where they will be fundraising £20,000 in 36 hours. Donate Here (www.charidy.com/cbw) and enable them to have the necessary startup funds to offer a strong Jewish infrastructure to the hundreds of families that will rely on them throughout the year!
