A groundbreaking new sefer by Sichos in English brings unprecedented clarity and accessibility to the foundational maamar of our generation – Basi LeGani. It’s already being snatched up in stores.
A new sefer, providing unprecedented clarity and accessibility to the maamar of Basi LeGani, has been met with great enthusiasm and has been flying off the shelves since its arrival from the printer.
Lessons in Basi LeGani, published by Sichos In English, arrives as Chabad Chassidim worldwide prepare to commemorate the 75th anniversary of both the histalkus of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the beginning of the Rebbe’s nesius.
The volume represents the culmination of years of meticulous research by Rabbi Eliyahu Touger in collaboration with Rabbi Levi Paltiel, Rabbi Yosef Greenbaum, and Rabbi Hertzel Pewzner. Building upon the successful Lessons in Maamarim series format, this work presents the Frierdiker Rebbe’s original text alongside a precise English translation and comprehensive explanations.
These explanations are derived from the Rebbe’s forty years of maamarim and sichos on Basi LeGani. Throughout the Rebbe’s nesius, each Yud Shevat brought a systematic exploration of Basi LeGani, with the Rebbe dedicating each year to expounding upon one chapter of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s maamar. This new volume masterfully synthesizes these forty years of the Rebbe’s maamarim and sichos, offering readers comprehensive access to the Rebbe’s elucidation of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s seminal work.
The publication’s innovative format, featuring parallel Hebrew-English texts enhanced by detailed commentary, is strategically designed to facilitate both in-depth learning and quick reference.
“This work serves as an invaluable tool for connecting with the foundational message and mission statement of our generation,” explains Rabbi Shmuel Avtzon, director of Sichos In English. “It’s not just a translation – it’s a comprehensive guide to understanding and internalizing these fundamental teachings.”
The timing holds particular significance as we enter the 75th year since Basi LeGani’s release. This maamar, prepared by the Frierdiker Rebbe for publication on Yud Shvat 5710 (1950), stands as both his spiritual testament and the defining text of Dor Hashvi’i, articulating our generation’s mission to transform this world into a dwelling place for Hashem.
The sefer is now available in seforim stores and at SIE.org/Shop.
