In honor of 50 years since the Rebbe introduced the special initiative to learn Hilchos Beis Habechirah during the Three Weeks, a special Beis Habechirah program was launched for boys ages eight and up designed and led by HC Rabbi Mendy Berkowitz.

The goal of the program was for the boys to finish the summer being knowledgeable about the Beis Hamikdash.

Each week, the boys received multiple-choice worksheets focusing on a different section of the Beis Hamikdash. At the end of class each day, the Rebbi showed them a 3D video model of the Beis Hamikdash. As they watched closely and learned about the different details presented, the boys simultaneously circled the correct answers on their worksheets. At the end of each week, the completed worksheets were collected.

In the first week of the program, over seventy boys participated. As a reward for their efforts, special Rebbe pictures were given out for the boys to add to their personal Camp Rebbe albums. The albums were dedicated לעילוי נשמת הרב צמח יוסף יצחק בן ר’ יהושע, Rabbi Yossi Wilansky A”H, one of the founders of our camp.

The excitement continued throughout the following weeks. In the second week, participating boys received delicious popsicles, and by the third week, they were treated to a special ice cream party!

In addition, an Iyun track was offered for boys who wanted to take their learning even further. These boys took a written test each Friday on the material they had learned that week. In recognition of their extra effort and dedication, they were treated to a special pizza lunch.

Seeing so many boys enthusiastically invested in learning Hilchos Beis Habechirah and deepening their knowledge of the Beis Hamikdash surely brought the Rebbe tremendous Nachas!
