Talmidim at the Monsey Cheder took part in an interactive safrus workshop with Rabbi Dovid Krautwirth, exploring unique safrus artifacts and learning firsthand about the precision and kedushah involved in writing sifrei kodesh.

This week, talmidim at the Monsey Cheder participated in a hands-on safrus workshop led by traveling sofer Rabbi Dovid Krautwirth. The presentation featured a collection of safrus items from around the world, including what is believed to be the world’s smallest tefillin.

The talmidim examined real tefillin, mezuzos, and other sifrei kodesh, learning about the precision and kedushah involved in each letter. They even had the opportunity to try spotting actual halachic mistakes in real mezuzos—an engaging and eye-opening experience.
