The suspected terrorist, a Palestinian from the West Bank who had entered Israel with a permit, was shot by a civilian and is in moderate condition.

According to police, the Palestinian stabbed a person with a screwdriver while riding on an Egged bus in Ramot. Police and medics arrived quickly at the scene.

Shaare Zedek Medical Center stated that the victim was at the hospital in moderate condition with multiple stab wounds to his upper body, adding that he was not in a life-threatening condition.

Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and paramedics provided medical care to the wounded and evacuated him to Shaare Zedek Hospital.

The police statement states that “Recently, the police received a report of a stabbing incident on a bus in the area of the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem. The stabber was neutralized, there was a wounded man and heavy police forces were called to the scene.”

MDA paramedics Itai Shimonov and Netanel Lifshitz said: “The wounded man was lying on the sidewalk next to the bus while he was conscious and suffering from bleeding stab wounds to his body. We were told he was stabbed inside the bus during the ride. We provided him with life-saving medical care that included stopping the bleeding and bandages and quickly evacuated him in an intensive care unit to the hospital when his condition was stable “
