Live: All-Day Livestream Marks Yahrtzeit of Reb Levik
Join live starting at 9:00 PM: Bais Levi Yitzchak of Pomona’s worldwide livestream and building campaign give Chassidim everywhere the opportunity to fulfill the Rebbe’s request to both study the Torah of Harav Levi Yitzchak and strengthen institutions that bear his name.
Tonight, the eve of Chof Av, Chassidim around the world mark the yahrtzeit-hilula of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father. A towering gaon, mekubal, and fearless Rav, Harav Levi Yitzchak endured years of exile and unimaginable hardship for refusing to compromise his commitment to Torah and Yiddishkeit. Even in exile, he continued to teach Torah until his passing on Chof Av 5704.
For the Rebbe, Chof Av was never simply a day of remembrance. It was a day of action.
Every year, the Rebbe urged Chassidim to study Harav Levi Yitzchak’s Torah and to strengthen institutions established in his name.
In a letter before Chof Av, the Rebbe wrote:
“כ״ף מנחם אב, יום היארצייט וההילולא של אאמו״ר לוי יצחק ז״ל… ועלי החוב והזכות גדול להציע ולבקש, שכל אחד ואחד ילמוד בהתוועדות מתורתו, ולנדב ביומא דין לזכות נשמתו.”
“Chof Menachem Av, the yahrtzeit-hilula of my revered father, Harav Levi Yitzchak… I feel it my great obligation and privilege to suggest and request that every person study from his Torah at the farbrengen and give tzedakah on this day for the merit of his soul.”
Throughout the years, the Rebbe devoted extraordinary attention to preserving and spreading his father’s legacy, encouraging the publication of his Torah and supporting initiatives established in his memory.
This is the spirit in which Bais Levi Yitzchak of Pomona was founded. Alongside its vibrant schedule of Torah and Chassidus, the shul hosts regular shiurim in Harav Levi Yitzchak’s Torah, bringing the Rebbe’s hora’ah to life throughout the year.
On the very day the Rebbe described as his “חוב והזכות גדול” to ask us to honor his father, we can answer that request by helping complete a mosad that proudly bears his name.
A gift to Bais Levi Yitzchak is more than a donation toward a building. It is participation in one of the Rebbe’s most personal hora’os.
Tonight is Chof Av.
Let us answer the Rebbe’s call and complete Bais Levi Yitzchak together.
