After the vast success of the “Yissachar and Zevulun Project”, which rewards 770 bochurim for diligent study, over the previous year, the program was relaunched for the new yeshiva year with a special event.
The “Yissachar and Zevulun Project” was first launched by Iggud Talmidei Hakvutza at the start of last year. The project encourages bochurim studying in 770 as part of kvutzah to make full use of their year by keeping seder and learning diligently, while granting them stipends to cover the costs for their needs. At the conclusion of each month, the bochurim were tested on their studies and those who received high marks were granted a generous stipend, prominently distributed in 770.
As Tishrei concluded and the new yeshiva year began, the program was relaunched at a special event, held in the yeshiva’s dining room at 1414 President St. The gathering was addressed by Rabbi Gedalyah Bluming, mashgiach in the yeshiva, as well as Rabbi Hillel Raskin, Rabbi Chaim Meir Zalmanov Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm, and others who motivated the bochurim for the upcoming winter zman, and extolled the virtues of joining this program.
Over 200 bochurim signed up to the program, which has 4 tracks for the study of Gemara, Halacha and Chassidus. Each bochur chose at least one of the program’s 4 tracks, completing the entire Mesachta Shabbos, the first and third volume of the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, the Rebbe Rashab’s hemshech of Samach Vov, or Likkutei Sichos Geula Umoshiach by the end of the year.
