A new daily Kolel was launched at the start of this summer in the growing anash community of Kingston, Pennsylvania.
Every morning, from 9:30 am and 12:30 pm, over a dozen yungeleit gather at the community shul Beis Moshe Noach to learn together. The beautiful sound of learning adds to the shul’s atmosphere and brings the light and life of Torah to the young vibrant community. Watching the energetic learning go on each day, inspires all those who come by to grab a sefer and start their day off with Torah learning for however long they can.
All throughout the summer, travelers from Lakewood and Monsey who stopped in Kingston, were amazed by the booming community and the kol Torah in the shul in the middle of the day.
“Leaving shul to the sound of Torah learning uplifts my day,” shared a local. “I feel like the Torah follows me out into my work day. In addition, knowing that the shul is being used as a center of learning is a source of inspiration while I am out working, and motivates me to return in the evening and learn in the shul.”
The Kolel, named Kolel Tzvi Yosef after Reb Tzvi Yosef Kotlarsky z”l, was founded and funded by his son-in-law, R’ Mendel Hershkop. The Kolel is managed by Rabbi Levi Katz.
